You can now control how parent and child departments are selected in theDepartment control/fieldorHierarchy filterwith the newHierarchical Selection Mode. This enhancement gives you flexibility to decide whether selections should be linked or independent — so your data structure matches your exact business logic.
With Hierarchical Selection Mode, you can:
- Keep the standard behaviorwithDefault (Linked selection), where selecting a parent (or all children) only marks the parent department.
- Mirror existing logicwithLinked selection, ensuring consistency in how department hierarchies are handled.
- Enable independencewithIndependent selection, where selecting a parent only includes the parent itself — and selecting children adds them individually.
This gives your team more flexibility and accuracy when using department hierarchies in form designers and workflows.
